IT’S NOT TOO LATE

Many people are convinced: "It's too late for me. I've had this habit too long. I've been this way all my life. I've never had victory in this area, I've failed again and again, and it’s just too late for me." Maybe you have felt that way. I want you to know that it's not too late. It's not a done deal. You can still turn things around.

The people of Ninevah are a good example of this. God sent Jonah to preach to them, and when he finally got there, he told them: "You've got 40 days before God's judgment comes to this city." What happened? The people of Nineveh repented, and God relented. There was no judgment. This works for nations and it works for cities and it works for individuals. If you will turn away from sin and turn to Jesus, you can change the course of your life and you can change the outcome of your life.

Actually, there's a test you can perform that will determine whether or not it's too late for you. It's a simple test. Place your second and third fingers on the inside of your wrist. Hold there for a second. If you feel anything, like a pulse, then you qualify. It's not too late for you to turn things around. Your future is written in clay, not in stone. There's still time to change the direction of your life.

It basically comes down to you being willing to take ownership of where you’ve been and where you are and where you’re headed. God said in Jeremiah 18:11, “So turn from your evil ways, each of you, and do what is right.” Instead of seeking comfort in the idea that “I will do right when everyone else does right,” you need to be willing to stand up and say, “I take responsibility for me.”

Your future is written in clay, not in stone. Just like baseball, no lead is safe, no loss is certain. You have to play until the final out. It’s not too late to get in the game and win. Every day you can move in the direction of God’s blessing. Every day you can take steps to undo the mistakes of yesterday. Every day you can take greater control of you circumstances. Every day you can see more of the glory of God come alive in your life. It’s not too late.
