JUST THE RIGHT MOMENT

But when the right time came, God sent his son, born of a woman, subject to the Law. - Galatians 4:4 (NLT)

Most folks have certain traditions when it comes to Christmas gift opening. Some families open their gifts on Christmas Eve. Some families open their gifts on Christmas morning. Some spread out their gift opening over several days to extend the enjoyment. Some open them according to age. Regardless of when or how you open your Christmas presents, you sense that you are in the “right moment”. 

It’s intriguing to me that God’s gift to us, the birth of His son Jesus—when God became human— was just at the right moment. Not a moment too early and not a moment to late. “But when the right time came,” the Bible proclaims. 

Gratefully, we have the guarantee of God’s Word that Jesus did indeed come. That Jesus lived among us. That Jesus died for our sins. That Jesus conquered death and rose again. We have the benefit of Christ-followers who have gone before us. They have passed down through each generation the assurance of Jesus’ life and ministry among us. We share in the legacy of what God has done in human history and continues to do during our time. We are a part of His ongoing story in the world.

O come, O come, Emmanuel,
And ransom captive Israel,
That mourns in lonely exile here,
Until the Son of God appear.
Rejoice! Rejoice!
Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel

Celebrate the Wonder of Christmas as the time to remember and give thanks for Jesus, who came “just in time!”

Control Yourself

When it comes to our life, we have nothing to say about our birth and little say about our death, but in between these two events most of the decisions are ours to be made. Are you letting life and circumstances control you, or are you controlling your own life and destiny with God’s help. Don't let life pass you by when you have the God-given ability to make things happen. I've heard it said: You can't control the length of your life, but you can control its use. Bounce Back

As a 7th grader in junior high school, I was devastated when I was cut from the starting 8th grade football team and sent to the second team.   I felt disappointed, embarrassed and dejected.   Latter that week, I spoke with my grandfather who passed on these words of wisdom, “It’s not how far you fall, but how high you bounce back that matters.”   I took those words to heart. The Bible says in Proverbs 25:11, “Timely advice is lovely, like golden apples in a silver basket.” I valued his wise words and committed to doing my best for this second string team, instead of pouting and complaining over my sense of failure. I committed to working hard, giving my all to bounce back. It served me well as I entered high school and played on two state championship teams.
